Proximity was launched in 2018 by Leah Williams in New York City. Due to the pandemic, it took a hiatus and has since been reborn. Leah was inspired to start Proximity after visiting L’Abri in Huemoz, Switzerland, an Acts 2-themed retreat center started by theologian & philosopher, Francis Schaffer.

Our Team

  • Leah Williams, Founder & CEO

The first event Leah ever hosted was her Sweet 16 party when she invited the entire marching band over to her house on moment’s notice. She is known amongst some as a legend. (But really, it’s because she was the only one who had a pool.)

Day Job: Pitch Consultant & Presentation Deck Designer (website)

  • Joshua Nelson, Vice President

Josh likes to meet and host people. Since Josh is a movie-buff, he would invite his friends over to watch the Academy Awards and make them lasagna. Unfortunately, they only came for the lasagna and ignored his lectures about the beauty of cinema. It’s ok, Josh is resilient and still welcoming to all. Especially if they want to hear him lecture about movies.

Day Job: Media & Culture Reporter for Fox News Digital

  • Gerald Duran, Venture Partner

Gerald’s favorite thing to do is host dinner gatherings at his home. Meat cooking and wine flowing, the best relationships and conversations are forged in these experiences among friends, old and new.

Day Job: Founder & Managing Partner at CanaGlobal, a Faith-Driven Venture Capital Firm
